We recommend to be very careful in choosing the type of zeolite to use because chabazite has a very low sodium content (almost zero) and easily releases the nutritional nitrogen. All other zeolites have a higher sodium content and release nitrogen with more difficulty.
We performed a lot of tests in cooperation with technical institutes and with university and we got the same results both in greenhouse and in vivarium.
The principle of action is the same of what we experienced in agriculture.
Chabazite retains fertilizers and prevents their leaching out during watering.
Chabazite mantains the same draining effect as pumice preventing stagnations of water and rotting of the roots and allows water saving because it releases water together with fertilizers only when plant need them.
Chabazite can be used also in preparing turfgrass by replacing a part of sand with chabazite, so it’s possible to achieve the following results: increase in biomass and grass cover, greater intensity of color, improvement in aesthetic appearance. Moreover, watering and fertilization will be greatly reduced.
